Thousands of Veterans live in the 31st District, and every Virginian has an obligation to those who served to protect our democracy. Russet is committed to honoring the sacrifice of all veterans and their families, while also making sure all of them receive the benefits and services they have earned.
Russet has seen the negative effects that can arise when individuals who experienced trauma during uniformed service do not receive the support and services they deserve. Russet is committed to fighting in Richmond to ensure that the laws in the Commonwealth recognize the obligation every Virginian owes to our Veterans. She will fight to eliminate state tax on military retirement, increase funding to support disabled Veterans and their families, ensure that mental health resources are readily available to those who need them, establish job training and assistance for individuals transitioning to civilian life, and fully support any and all efforts to make Virginia the number one state for Veterans in this Country.
