Russet has watched our country become more and more divided over the last few years. Many people have abandoned supporting the best idea for supporting the idea espoused by one political party or another.
The criminal justice system is often viewed as an adversarial environment. While that can be true, Russet excelled at working collaboratively with defense council to ensure the best outcomes. In Richmond, she will similarly work across the aisle to prioritize the needs of Virginians.
Russet believes that the political divide should never eclipse doing what is right for the citizens of Virginia. She is willing to listen and work across the aisle to find solutions which will improve the lives of Virginians. She believes that our political environment needs an infusion of thoughtful, intelligent, conversation between people from all backgrounds and viewpoints to try to move debate forward to find compassionate, correct solutions to the problems we all face. She will never turn her back on an idea because of the party of the person proposing it, and without sacrificing core values, will work to find common ground that unites us all.
