Federal Worker Resources

As a former prosecutor and CIA officer, Senator Perry knows firsthand exactly how federal employees show up for Virginians and Americans every day - regardless of their background, political affiliation, or socioeconomic status. They are the people who keep our national parks open and safe; they are the people who protect our nation from terrorist threats; they are the people who make air travel safe; they are the people who keep our country moving.

She has put together this page with resources for federal employees affected by Trump’s policies. Her office is always here as a resource and you can contact her at senatorperry@senate.virginia.gov.

accessing unemployment benefits

If you have lost your job, you should apply for unemployment benefits in the state or district where your duty station is located or in your state or district of residence.

While there are some rare exceptions, voluntarily quitting your job generally disqualifies you from receiving unemployment benefits.

VIRGINIA

If you are a federal employee who became unemployed due to no fault of your own, you may be eligible for unemployment compensation for federal employees (UCFE) through the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC).*

*If you are having issues with VEC, Russet may be able to help. Please email senatorperry@senate.virginia.gov for more information.
